In the early 1900s, the market continued to operate downtown before relocating to its current location, a vast 113 acres in the south Bronx in 1967. The largest of the three independent cooperative markets is the produce market, which is home to E. Armata Inc. and over 30 merchants. The Hunts Point Terminal Produce Market is responsible for around 60% of the daily stock for New York City residents and feeding over 30 million people in the region.
